Keeping your bicycle in optimal condition not only improves its performance, but also extends its lifespan. At Relber, we offer a range of products designed to make maintaining your bicycle easy, efficient, and environmentally friendly.

1. Preparation: Wet the bicycle

Before applying any product, it is essential to wet the entire bicycle with water to remove dust and surface mud. This facilitates the action of the cleaning products and prevents dirt from causing abrasion during washing.

2. Applying the degreaser

With the bicycle still damp, apply the Relber Bike Degreaser to the drivetrain (chain, chainrings, cassettes, and derailleurs). This product, with its neutral and biodegradable formula, is effective against accumulated grease without damaging components. Let it sit for a few minutes to penetrate and dissolve the dirt.

3. General cleaning with Bike Shampoo

Once the degreaser has been applied and while it is working, it is time to apply the Relber Bike Shampoo to the rest of the bicycle. This shampoo is formulated with a neutral pH and is 100% biodegradable, making it safe for all bicycle materials, including carbon, aluminum, and plastics. Its active foam helps to effectively remove dust and general dirt without damaging the paint or delicate components. Furthermore, it adapts to the finish of your bicycle, whether glossy or matte. To apply it, you can use a foamer or a pressure sprayer for even product distribution. After applying the shampoo, let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing.

4. Scrubbing the bicycle

With the degreaser and shampoo applied and having let them sit for a few minutes, it is time to scrub the bicycle to remove the dirt.

  • Areas with shampoo: Use a microfiber mitt to gently scrub the frame and components. The mitt's soft texture protects the paint and delicate finishes while effectively removing dirt.

  • Areas with degreaser: Use brushes specific for the drivetrain, such as stiff-bristle brushes or detailing brushes, to clean the chain, chainrings, cassettes, and derailleurs. These brushes allow you to reach difficult corners and remove accumulated grease and dirt.

It is important to use the appropriate tools for each part of the bicycle to avoid damage and ensure effective cleaning.

5. Rinsing and drying

Once cleaning is finished, rinse the bicycle with water to remove any remaining product and dirt. Then, carefully dry it with a microfiber cloth to prevent water spots and prepare the surface for the next steps.

6. Polishing and protection

With the bicycle dry, apply the Relber Polish & Protector. This product creates a protective layer that repels dirt and facilitates future cleaning, in addition to providing a glossy or matte finish depending on the paint type.

7. Chain lubrication

A well-lubricated chain ensures smooth pedaling and reduces component wear. Relber offers different lubricants adapted to various conditions:

  • MTB Lubricant: Ideal for mountain bikes, cyclocross, gravel, enduro, and downhill. Its wax-based formula with particles improves adhesion and keeps the chain clean by not accumulating dirt.

  • ROAD Lubricant: Designed for road bikes, it combines waxes and ceramic particles for greater durability and cleanliness. Its excellent fluidity allows for effective penetration without leaving sticky residues.

  • WAX Lubricant: Medium-duration wax-based lubricant, suitable for both mountain and road biking. It keeps the chain clean as it does not accumulate dirt.

  • Ceramic Oil Lubricant: This long-lasting lubricant is formulated with an oil base and ceramic particles, which reduces friction and improves power transfer. It is ideal for dry or low-humidity conditions, offering a quieter drivetrain and protecting the chain from wear.

  • WET Lubricant: Designed for wet conditions, rain, mud, and extreme climates. It repels water and provides long-lasting lubrication, effectively protecting against corrosion and wear. It is ideal for winter or rainy routes.

Apply the appropriate lubricant, ensuring the chain is completely dry for the best results.

8. Application of tire sealant (for MTB)

To avoid interruptions on your rides, especially on mountain bikes, use the Relber Anti-puncture Sealant. This ammonia-free and biodegradable product effectively seals small holes in the tires, allowing you to continue your path without worries.

Application steps:

  1. Remove the valve core.

  2. Shake the sealant well before use.

  3. Use a syringe to introduce the recommended amount into the tire:

    • MTB 29”: 100-120 ml

    • MTB 27.5”: 60-140 ml

    • Gravel: 40-50 ml

    • Road: 30-40 ml

  4. Replace the valve core and check for leaks.

It is recommended to check and refill the sealant every 2-4 months, as with time and use, the product can form a latex layer inside the tire and partially evaporate, especially in hot conditions.

By following these steps and using the right products, you can keep your bicycle in excellent condition, ensuring optimal performance and greater durability. At Relber, we are committed to offering you effective and eco-friendly solutions for the care of your bicycle.
